Public Meeting

"How our Parliament works - a Bluffer's Guide"

7.30 p.m. Monday 20th June 2011

Ramsey Town Hall

Admission Free - All Welcome

This 'Bluffers Guide' event has been arranged at the request of supporters who felt that with a General Election fast approaching in September they didn't really understand how our parliament operates.

The broad thread of the presentation is that Parliament exists to make laws, but where do they emanate from and who interprets them?

The structure of Parliament will be explained and the internal and external influences on law making. Lastly the Judiciary and its relationship with Parliament will be explored.

Oh yes... if you still don't know what the Block Vote is it will be explained!

[Use of brand name 'Bluffer's Guide' made possible with the kind permission of the publishers Oval Books]
